On Friday 11th December Macclesfield Conservative Association arranged a Carol Concert at Adlington Hall when over 80 participants sang carols and enjoyed a concert given by Anne Mitchell and Catherine Silman of "Cantata" - an unique duo who have been prominent in Poynton music circles for a long time. MP David Rutley, his wife Rebecca and daughter Jenny, joined in the fun and drew out the winning tickets for the Grand Draw - the proceeds of which were donated, as in previous years, to a local charity this time to the East Cheshire Hospice. Thanks were paid to Camilla Legh for the use of the ancient hall - where Handel, a friend of the Legh family, played the wonderful organ there in 1741 or 1742
